The Lava Hot Springs Fire & Ice Winterfest is held each year over the first full weekend of February in the quaint resort town of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, famous for its natural spring-fed hot pools. Friday, February 7, 2025

Friday 12:00 pm – 8 pm: MARKET FAIR & FOOD TRUCKS
Vendors, Food Trucks, Fire & Ice merchandise and in person ticket sales for all events.
Held at the Lava Hot Springs Community Center. 150 N Center St (Google Map)

Friday 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm: BEER TASTING AT ERUPTION BREWING
Held at Eruption Brewery and Bistro @ 15 N 3rd East (Google Map)
Hosted by Sam and Leisha Netuschil.
Cost: $12.00 per person. Pay at the door.

Friday 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm: WINE TASTING
Hosted reception style. Registration includes up to 5 tastings from a selection of varietal wines, a commemorative wine glass and appetizers. Your favorite bottle(s) will be available for purchase at the conclusion of each session. All net proceeds are contributed to the Greater Lava Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce.
Location: The Lava Hot Springs Riverside Inn at 255 Portneuf Street (Google Map)
Cost: $50.00 per person. Prepaid tickets check in at the door. Tickets may be purchased there if any are available.
1st Session: 3:30 – 4:45 pm (BUY TICKETS IN PERSON)
2nd Session: 5:15 pm – 6:30 pm (SOLD OUT)

Friday 7:00 – 7:30 pm: FIRE & ICE PARADE OF LIGHTS
THEME IS “POLAR BEAR”. Decorate your float or ride and meet us in the swimming pool parking lot @ 6:30 pm.

Saturday 8:00 am – 11 am: AMERICAN LEGION WAFFLE AND SAUSAGE BREAKFAST
Held at the Lava Hot Springs Community Center. 150 N Center St (Google Map)
Waffles, sausage, eggs, juice or coffee.
Cost: $7 for 10 and older. $5 for under 10. Pay at the door.

Saturday 10:00 am: RUNNING OF THE BULLS
Run in your swimming suit down Main Street starting at the Royal Hotel Pizzeria and jump in the State Foundation Pools. Line up starts at 9:00 am on Center and Main Street (Google Map).
Cost: $5:00 per person. Wristband required.

Saturday 11:00 am – 1:30 pm: CHILDREN’S WATER CARNIVAL
Held at the Lava Hot Springs Indoor Aquatic Center. There will be games, prizes and water fun. 12 and under are invited to attend this event. This event will be held indoors at the Olympic Swimming Complex at 195 N. Center (Google Map). Sponsored by the Lava Hot Springs Foundation. Info: Call (208) 251-5230.
Cost: FREE for kids AND MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.

Saturday 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm: POLAR BEAR BEER GARDEN
Held across the bridge in the Lava Foundation East Park at 3rd East and 1st North (Google Map)
Local vendors will offer a variety of delicious meals & snacks.
Cost: $30.00 includes 1 Souvenir Mug & 1 Drink Ticket. Refills may be purchased at the Beer Garden.

Saturday 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm: POLAR BEAR COSTUME JUDGING PARTY
Saturday 2:00 pm: POLAR BEAR FLOAT (SOLD OUT)
Wear your wackiest outfit and line up for the Polar Bear costume contest! Prizes will be awarded! Contestants must buy a Polar Bear Float ticket to win prizes. Float for ¼ mile down the ice cold Portneuf River to the Community building. See fun photos on Facebook!
Warm up at the Lava Hot Springs Inn Hot Pools at 94 N Center St (Google Map) immediately after the float. One time entry with wrist bands required.
REGISTER AND PICK UP WRIST BANDS AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER AT 150 N Center St (Google Map)
Tube pick up and waiver signing will be at West pavilion, near the beer garden. (Note! You will need to bring ID and sign a waiver in order to pick up the tube!)
Contestants enter the river at the 3rd Street Bridge. 3rd East and 1st North (Google Map)
Cost: $10.00 Entry Fee includes Costume Judging and Tube.
TUBES ARE SOLD OUT! You may BRING YOUR OWN TUBE and pay at the Community Center to participate in the Costume Contest.

Saturday 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm: CURLING AT THE ROOFTOP BAR
Held at the Rooftop Bar @ 289 1st Alley N South (Google Map)
3-4 person teams, $25/team, cash prize. Team costumes encouraged!

Saturday 4:30 pm: PENGUIN RACE FUNDRAISER
Cost: 1 penguin for $5.00, 5 for $20.00.
BUY ONLINE NOW! Hurry! Sales close at Noon on Saturday.
Up to 1000 penguins will be dropped into the Portneuf River off the 3rd Street East Bridge 3rd East and 1st North (Google Map) and rescued by the Community Center Building. If your penguin wins you will be contacted by text, email or phone. You don’t need to be present to win. (NOT included in bundle)

Saturday at Dusk: THE TORCH LIGHT SKI
As the sun sets, look for fire in the sky! Watch local daredevils ski down the “L” Mountain with lit torches (weather permitting). You won’t want to miss this amazing sight.

Saturday 6:30 pm– 8:00 pm: FIRE DANCERS
8:30 pm – 10:00pm: AARON BALL BAND CONCERT
Fire performers from Lava Flow Fire will entertain you through dance and acrobatics as they manipulate flaming objects to live music by the Aaron Ball Band. Their music is full of passion, dry wit and storytelling through Americana, Southern Rock, and Alternative Country styles. We will have bleacher seating this year!

Located in the Meadows behind the Lava Hotel & Spa. Entrance is at the end of 142 1st Ave E (Google Map) just past River Bridge Inn on the right side of the road.
Cost: There will be a combo ticket this year, paired with the Aaron Ball Band.

- $50 for Fire Dancers & Aaron Ball Concert at the Community Center the day of the event (Saturday the 8th)
- $35 Aaron Ball Concert ONLY after Fire Dancers & Concert at the Community Center. (You don’t need to pay again if you paid for the Fire Dancers & Aaron Ball Concert)

Saturday 8:00 pm: FIREWORKS
Look toward the skies for an amazing display! Fireworks will be launched from the north side of the city and can be viewed nearly anywhere in town.
Additional Information:
Fire & Ice Merchandise will be sold at the Veterans breakfast Saturday morning and in the Beer Garden Saturday afternoon. Fire and Ice merchandise with original Lava Chamber Fire and Ice logos will be available for purchase “only” through locations established by the Lava Chamber of Commerce at the Fire and Ice Event. The proceeds of all sales are used to support the Chamber and help pay for the event. Thank you for your support of the Lava Chamber of Commerce Fire and Ice event through your purchase of Chamber Fire and Ice merchandise!
